Formed in 1992, Nuance is an a cappella ensemble that produces a distinct, close harmony sound with a contemporary flair. Their performances have been described as "somber to jubilant, always elegant and entertaining." Drawing from standards, spirituals, blues and jazz tributes, Nuance styles their repertoire to reflect the loves, joys and pauses of the human spirit.

Best friends for life, Alvin Mayes, Eric Ziegler and Russwin Francisco sing to foster and share their love of music and to lend voice and support to community causes. They have collaborated with various groups and individuals, sometimes doing joint concerts, performing commissioned works and even singing for dance.

Nuance began as an ensemble of the Lesbian and Gay Chorus of Washington DC which suspended its 26-year run in 2010. Nuance strives to carry on the LGCW hallmark of "every voice matters in a world that listens."

More recently, Nuance performs at Black Fox Lounge, a jazz and live music venue located near Dupont Circle, Washington, DC.
